I ride a lot, so when I pick up an injury I am typically stubborn and try to ride through it. About 6 weeks ago I started having serious problems with my left knee.
As a result I’ve been off the bike for two weeks as the ‘riding through it’ cure did not work. Today I went on a very short ride for an hour to gauge healing progress. What a joy to be back in the saddle.
The knee seems to be a lot better, but the ride was flat. Around here there are a lot of hills, some very steep, and they will be the real test. Physio on Tuesday then a gradual return to normal rides.
I find cycling perfect for dragging me out of the office. On a cycle path with no traffic, I can really think.
